The Natural Law is the Gentlemen's Mission is Professor SHENG Hong’s new book. In this book, Professor SHENG Hong shared his opinions on current affairs and social issues from the perspective of an economist. With concerns of rationality and humanity, The Natural Law is the Gentlemen's Mission provides a unique view of a contemporary intellectual who has been dedicated to civilizing the public on issues such as institutional economics, private property rights protection, and constitutionalism. This book is divided into six parts with the first chapter dedicated to the positioning of an institutional economist based on a passion to pursue truth and happiness for humankind, and the other five on China’s reforms, local affairs, international relations, friendship in the academia and market for ideas, and land policies. Professor SHENG Hong proposed in the book that the way to do things right means to influence others and motivate people towards the direction we expect, which will further bring good to those who act, to ourselves, and to the society eventually.
