October 27th, the third session of Hayek Reading Club was held in Beijing. Professor SHENG Hong, Professor ZHANG Shuguang, Mr. WU Si, Mr. Ningyue, Mr. JIANG Hao, and Mr Zijin attended this session.
Law, Legislation, and Liberty is a classic summarizing the lifetime achievement and thinking of Hayek. This session was dedicated to the fifth and sixth chapter of the book. Attendees discussed the distinction between internal and external rules, the interaction between rules and order, the priority of violence or law, and the evolution of law. These topics were discussed in the context of China’s recent developments.
