Prof. Mao Yushi and Prof. Sheng Hong attended and delivered speeches on“Thirty People’s Forum on Education and China's Future” which was held in Sun Yat-Sen University on May 14th, 2010.

Prof. Mao Yushi's speech was mainly on two objective tendencies in education. The first is sole materialism which takes learning to make money as the top objective of education. That's how examination-oriented education is produced. Students learn how to work out examination questions, yet are lacking in correct understanding of the meaning of life. The second is country-oriented opinion, which emphasizes the aim of education is to educate talents for national development who are obedient to the country by sacrificing interests of themselves. Also, the importance of the country and the party is overemphasized. Prof. Sheng Hong's speech emphasized that the educating right is people's constitutional right, and education freedom is also people's right provided by the constitution.
