Prof. Feng Xingyuan attended the Nddaily Public Forum by invitation and delivered a speech entitled "China's Development Path and Difficulties and Future Prospects Faced by Chinese SMEs" in Shenzhen on December 18th, 2011. In his opinion, regulations on private economy should be loosened, and more people should be encouraged to start an undertaking and become rich; meanwhile, privilege in various fields, including state-owned enterprises, should be abolished. Besides, he believed that private enterprises should be given more space so that China's economy could continue to grow in the future. For one thing, more freedom for maintaining and enhancing economic activities is needed. For another, stable environment for economic operations should be maintained.
