September 11, 2013 Sheng Hong Unirule Institute of Economics Beijing, P.R.China Mr. Michael H. Schill The Law School The University of Chicago 1111 E. 60th St. Chicago, IL 60637 U.S.A. 773-702-9495 Dear Mr. Michael H. Schill: We, all members of the Unirule Institute of Economics based in Beijing would like to express our great sorrow to you, for your losing Professor Ronald Harry Coase, a talented, respectable, and graceful economist. We also regret that we lose a rare opportunity to have Professor Coase to be in China. There was only one month before his plan to visit China when we heard that he has gone. It is huge pity for both of us. For him, he missed a chance forever to see China by himself; for us, we missed the honor to be the host of such a scholar who contributes to the world the theory which returns it into the real world. We mourn for Professor Coase, because of not only his theory’s contribution to China’s reform, but also his approach’s inspiration to economist society; because of not only his friendliness towards Chinese people, but also his personality towards all of people. Professor Coase must have left his valuable thought in the earth, which may continue to benefit people behind him, meanwhile, we wish he has a peaceful, long sleep in Heaven. Yours sincerely, Sheng Hong Director, Unirule Institute of Economics Totally 2 Pages,Now on the 1 Page 1 2 |
