Funded by UK Strategic Programme Fund, Great Britain China Center, Unirule Institute of Economics, Research Institute for Fiscal Science finished the research “Institutional Framework for Local Fiscal Expenditure Scale Control and Structural Optimization”, On the basis of the research, academic roundtable meeting was held in Beijing Huangyuan Hotel in Feb 21. 2009. Prof. Sheng Hong, Director of Unirule Institute of Economics, and Prof. Jia Kang, Director of Research Institute for Fiscal Science introduced the research report and China’s fiscal reform respectively. Experts from National People’s Congress, Ministry of Finance, and National Development Research Center made comments and discussed this report. Experts from London School of Economics and Political Science and University of Birmingham were invited to introduce budgetary system and fiscal reform experiences in UK. Government officials from Nanhai, Guangdong province, Jiaozuo, Henan province, and Jiangyin, Jiangsu province also introduced their own fiscal reform experiences.
